Now or never, I thought. Such marvelous winter weather is a perfect invitation to go out into the nature regardless of the cold. Who knows when we will have this kind of winter again in our OWL region. Sun, deep blue sky, snow and ice on fields and meadows and last but not least this icy temperature.
It wasn’t easy at all to weak up on that particular Saturday morning. But I was rewarded for all the efforts. Just think of minus 16 degrees Celsius.
I was pretty fascinated by the nature, the light was changing minute by minute and the sun was reflecting the colors on the snow and ice of the trees and shrubs.
Unfortunately I didn’t succeed to transform the mood and the atmosphere to my pictures. Therefore the number of pictures I find worth presenting is quite small. But make up your own opinion, please.
The first picture shows the sun which looks like an inferno behind the trees. The finest snow-ice-crystals on the macro-picture seem to be very solid. But as soon as you touched them very gently they collapsed immediately.
The location I decided for was at the Ems River close to “Brocker Mühle”. I found it difficult to find many different and nice motives there. However, next time I will put “location” into my preparation process.

Heiße Stimmung bei eisigen Temperaturen!
Jetzt oder nie, habe ich mir gedacht. So ein herrliches Winterwetter lädt trotz Kälte in die Natur. Wer weiß, wann wir in OWL wieder so einen Winter haben werden. Sonne, strahlend blauer Himmel, Schnee und Eis bedeckte Wiesen und Felder und nicht zu vergessen eisige Temperaturen.
Das Aufstehen an diesem Samstagmorgen fiel nicht leicht, hat sich aber sehr gelohnt, obwohl ich bei Minus 16°C meine Finger kaum gespürt habe.
Die Natur faszinierte mich sehr; das Licht änderte sich fast von Minute zu Minute und spiegelte sich in wunderschönen Farben in dem Schnee und in den vom Schnee und Eis bedeckten Sträuchern und Bäumen.
Leider, wie ich finde, ist es mir nicht sehr gelungen die Stimmung einzufangen. Daher ist die Ausbeute der präsentablen Bilder eher mager. Aber, bildet euch eure eigene Meinung.
Das erste Bild zeigt die aufgehende Sonne, die hinter den Bäumen wie ein Inferno wirkt. Die Schnee-Eis-Kristalle auf einem Ast in der Makro-Aufnahme mögen noch so stabil wirken. Bei einem kleinen Pusten oder zartem Berühren fielen sie zusammen.
Die von mir ausgewählte Lokation an der Ems bei „Brocker Mühle“ bot nur wenig Abwechslung in den Motiven. Das nächste Mal werde ich einen Ausflug wohl besser planen.
